Customs: Russia’s wheat exports fall 15.3% to 3.3 mln tns in April

MOSCOW, Jun 6 (PRIME) -- Russia’s wheat exports decreased 15.3% on the month to 3.306 million tonnes and 13% to U.S. $617.1 million in monetary terms in April, the Federal Customs Service said on Wednesday.

In January–April, wheat exports soared 60% on the year to 13.013 million tonnes and 10.1% to $2.354 billion in monetary terms.

Russia’s wheat imports fell 2.9% on the month to 36,700 tonnes worth $5 million in April, and grew 60% on the year to 125,000 tonnes worth $17.4 million in January–April.

Barley imports fell 92.1% to 4,500 tonnes worth $800,000 and corn imports fell 11.7% to 30,900 tonnes worth $119.8 million in the period.

Imports of vegetable oil grew 29.8% on the month to 3,000 tonnes in April and more than doubled on the year to 11,600 tonnes in January–April.
